Steve Freedkin, Principal
My journey with computers started in high school, when I completed my computer science assignments in the first few weeks of the year, and spent the rest of the time cooking up fun and/or useful programs ranging from an online survey that rated how “hip” students were to a program that analyzed pollution observations from a team of volunteers (and got enforcement).
In college, I majored in journalism and environmental affairs, with a minor in psychology. I founded an environmental organization and several related small businesses.
After college, I moved to Michigan for 11 years, where I served as Executive Director of a statewide consumer-protection organization, started a very successful small business, served as a telephone crisis hotline counselor and trainer, and published a statewide magazine. I then moved to California to become Executive Director of a nonprofit organization, then Operations Director of an international think-tank — overseeing all operational aspects (including the Web site) of a $3-million organization.
Starting in 2001, various small organizations and businesses began seeking me out for communications support, ranging from creating and improving their Web sites to writing and editing text to overseeing editing of more than 1,000 short training videos.
I also provide administrative, logistical, and technical support for various clients, including setting up and running Zoom videoconferencing for online and hybrid events (in-person plus online) of varying complexities, often involving participants from around the world.
My ideal client prefers to deal primarily with one consultant who can help with all aspects of online presence and more: Web sites, blogs, and social media (conceptualizing, writing, editing, producing, and marketing); printed materials; audio and video resources. My clients appreciate that I am responsive, easy to work with, produce what you want, and don’t drown you in techno-babble. Hence the slogan, “We Speak Human.” See what some of my clients have said about working with me on the Examples page.

Occasionally our clients needs services beyond what we can offer in-house. Our network of skilled graphic artists, programmers, and other professionals can develop logos and other artwork and assist with complex programming tasks if needed. Let us know how we can help!
